Luke 4:6
"All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
(...and Jesus' response)
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall WORSHIP the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve."
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall WORSHIP the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve."
In Luke chapter 4, when Jesus was tempted by satan at the end of his 40 days of testing in the wilderness, the devil told Him he would give Him all power and authority. What?! Give the Son of God everything that He Himself created? But Jesus cannot be fooled, deceived or tempted. He did no sin according to the Apostle Peter, He knew no sin according to Paul and in Him is no sin per the beloved disciple, John.
Notice Jesus' response. Every time, He spoke God's word to him. In the scripture above, He was quoting this verse in Deuteronomy: 6:13 "You shall fear (yaré- יאר) the Lord your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name."
He uses the word "worship" in place of the word "fear" in the Old Testament verse so to "fear" the LORD Jesus defines as "worship."
The same exact word for fear is used in Proverbs 1:7: "The fear {yirah- יראה} of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge."
Fear = Worship!
But that's not all. Hebrew reads from right to left left and is a form of picture writing, like Chinese. These pictures are very consistent.
Yirah-fear is spelled with these letters:
[י] yod: open hand/power
[ר] resh: think/meditate/head or leader
[א] aleph: ox, sacrifice
[ה] hei: grace
The word pictures tell a story, give us a window on God's perspective and tell us things you would never get from any definition: When you "meditate" on the "power" of Jesus' "sacrifice" and His "Grace," you feel an overwhelming desire to "fear-worship" the Lord!

That brings us to the third part of this equation. In Proverbs 1:7 tells us that "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,". right? And what is "fear? WORSHIP! So you could more accurately say that "WORSHIP IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE!"
Fear = Worship = Wisdom!
