Speak [דָּבַר] God's Word

Mark 11:23
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he SAYS will be done, he will have whatever he SAYS.”

The Bible demonstrates to us over and over again that words have power.  Romans 10:8 declares, "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your MOUTH (first) and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

God gives more weight to speaking out His word than to believing.

The most incredible evidence of the power of speaking is, well, EVERYTHING. That's how God created the universe:  By speaking!
Then God made man in His image.  In the Hebrew text of Genesis 2:7 where it says "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a LIVING BEING," it literally says, "man became a SPEAKING SPIRIT."
God thereafter brought every animal to Adam one by one.  He not only gave them all names but the various animals took on the characteristics of the names they were given as he spoke it over each one.  His words had power, too.
You and I are made in the image of God.  We have the power of the spoken word, too.

The word, "Say," is mentioned three times in the opening verse but believe is mentioned only once.  Whenever the Holy Spirit records something three times, you'd better believe that what follows is of critical importance.  1). Whoever SAYS to this mountain.  2). Believes those things that he SAYS.  3). He will have whatever he SAYS

See?  BELIEVE is mentioned only ONCE.  Are you sensing a pattern here?  It's obvious that the emphasis here is on SAYING not believing. Yet how many times do we hear sermons based on this verse and the emphasis is on believing?  Seems to me that God wants a whole lot more speaking.

He further demonstrates this in the Hebrew language itself. The word for speak in Hebrew has a very interesting story to tell.  It is the word "davar."
Here is how it is spelled:  [דָּבַר]

Hebrew reads from right to left and is a language of picture writing, like Chinese.  These pictures are very consistent. Davar is spelled:
ד=dalet: Door
ב=Bet:  House
ר=Resh:  Head
[בר] spell "Bar," which means "son."

How do you open the DOOR (dalet) TO THE SON (bar)?  You SPEAK!

That's why you say, "AMEN!" to God's blessings.  That's why you SPEAK God's word over your situation.  That's why the psalmist wrote, "I will SAY of the LORD, He is my refuge."

Ever feel like you're lost in the wilderness and can't find your way out?  Once again, God hides the secret in the Hebrew letters.  Take any verb in Hebrew, put the letter, "Mem[מ] in front and it becomes a noun.  The word "davar" becomes the word "midbar," which means "wilderness."

The way out of your wilderness (midbar) is to open the door (dalet) to the Son (bar).  How do you open the door to the Son?  You SPEAK--SAY what you want, not what you don't, and keep on SAYING.

But what do we do? We say things like, " I'll believe it when I see it."  That's why you don't see it, because you don't say it.  MAN HAS IT BACKWARDS.
If God had used that principle when the earth was without form and void, darkness everywhere, He would have looked around and said "Wow, so dark!" It would have gotten even darker!
But that's not what he did. That is not the way he operates. He always says what he doesn't see.  He said, "Light be," and it was. At the end of each day, He saw what he had spoken into existence,
THEN He said it was good.

This same principle applies when you take to communion.  You declare:  SPEAK out your Covenant with God every time you "eat" the Lord's supper.  You say "Amen" to His promises.

Just as Adam and Eve ate their way into the curse, eating is the way back.  Eating from the wrong tree in the garden brought about the fall; eating of the Lord's Supper declares our covenant with God which affirms we are not under any curse.  It brings to God's remembrance what His beloved Son did for us.
When you eat of the Lord's body, you literally eat your way back into wholeness, health, blessings, and every good thing that God has for His children.  Because of that covenant, all the promises in the
Bible are yours for the taking.  Never underestimate the power of communion.

Remember the Gentile woman who came to Jesus begging Him to deliver her demon-possessed daughter? He was not willing to grant her request at first saying that the children must first be fed. And she said that even the puppies "eat the crumbs" off the master's table.

Wow!  Church, even a tiny crumb of bread taken in the Lords name can do more than the most powerful medicine man could ever invent.  A tiny crumb sends the devil packing!

Let's read the passage below and see WHY she got her miracle.
“The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.” Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.”
Mark 7:26-30
She asked and asked and asked and didn't give up!

How do you appropriate God's blessings in your life?  Use your mouth.  "Speak out" God's word.  All the psychology in the world, all the positive confession, positive mental attitudes, all the so-called human wisdom and theories proposed by men may or may not work.  But one thing is certain:  "GOD'S WORD ALWAYS WORKS."
He doesn't deal in speculation, theories, maybe so or hope so.  His word deals with "know so; verily, verily;  amen, amen; truly, truly.  His word is accurate. God's word works.....PERIOD!"

Genesis 1 : 1 says that " God created the heavens and the earth."  The first words He spoke were "Light be."  He created light before there was anything else, but it was not from the Sun. That was not created until the 4th day.
Scientists actually have discovered that when everything is broken down to it's minutest particle they are photons which is nothing more than light!  How amazing and accurate our Bible is!  LIGHT CREATED EVERYTHING!

When God's SPOKEN word comes into your life, it brings LIGHT!

In many respects, scientists are still dealing with theories and speculations. There are many things that Bible reveals that science has not yet figured out.  There was a time that man thought the moon was larger than the sun because it looks that way. Yet, the Bible said that the sun was the "greater light" and the moon was the "lesser light."  Centuries later, what did man discover?  That what the Bible said was accurate.  It was right all along.  The sun only looked smaller because it was much farther away.

The Bible never plays "catch up."  Rather it is man that is always catching up to The Bible.  Though technically not a book about science, the Bible is, nevertheless, scientifically accurate. The book of Job is proof of that.

It is the oldest book in the Bible.  In it Job it says that "God hangs the earth upon nothing." How could he write such a thing?  He didn’t have the capability to go out into space and look back at the earth, did he?  Of course not...but if he did, he would have seen what our astronauts have seen; that indeed it does look as though the earth is hanging upon nothing. Today, we know that it's gravity, but Job didn't know that.  He simply recorded what God told him.

So, Church, it stands to reason that the more of God's word--LIGHT--you get into your life, into your situation or circumstance, the more you can expect it to create your miracle or your answer.  Every time you go to church, expect that God's word will bring that light of creation into your life.  His word brings life and light into your Spirit, soul, and body; into your relationships, your family, your work and into your entire life. He can even raise to life that which was formerly lifeless.

God has hidden some more wonderful things in His word.  You saw above that word in Hebrew for speak is "davar."  The plural of davar is "devarim."  This is the Hebrew word for the book of Deuteronomy.  It means "Double word," because in Deuteronomy the law is reiterated.   God spoke it twice.

You, Church, can use your speaking to open the door to the Son or to the devil by what you say.   Words have power, so make sure you "davar: speak" God's Word!
