Talítha Cumí!

Mark 5:21-29
"Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, (of the Sea of Galilee) a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, 'My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.' So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him."
Woman sick for 12 years.
Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.”

The Bible is multi-layered and can be studied in many ways. On the surface, known to the Jewish rabbis as the "P'shat," these two accounts are stories of two different healings.  But if you dig a little deeper, down to the "sod," the level where you the find prophetic significance, it becomes apparent that this is a story about two healings of an altogether different sort.
(For more on the different layers of Bible study, follow this link:  http://emmausrevelations.blogspot.com/2016/06/eutychus-story-behind-words.html)

This story of Jairus' daughter is intertwined with the woman who was sick for 12 years.  Wherever their stories are told, they are in conjunction one with the other.  In each account, the Holy Spirit specifically makes mention of the number "12," which is a very significant connection. But He also chooses to include a bit of the original language Jesus used, namely the two Aramaic words, "Talithá Cumí."  When He does so, pay even closer attention. They paint a very clear picture of what Jesus actually did when He raised her from the dead.  There's an exciting story behind the words!

These two back-to-back accounts are documented THREE TIMES, once in each of the synoptic gospels:  Matthew 9:18-26, Luke 8: 41-56 and here in Mark 5:21-29.  When anything is recorded 3 times it means the Holy Spirit really, really, REALLY wants us to study them because He has something important He really, really, REALLY wants to tell us.
The passage in Mark recounts the story in the greatest detail so it we'll study it and discover what is so important.

The P'shat: Surface Story.
Here's what we know from the surface story.  The young girl was 12 years old and the woman with the issue of blood was sick for 12 years.  We can safely conclude that this young girl was born when the woman's suffering began or visa versa.
Could this be a coincidence? Not a chance.  The Holy Spirit does not include numbers in the text on a whim just to make the book thicker. Quite the contrary: They reveal deeper truths for anyone hungry enough to search out their meaning.
(For more on this topic please follow the link below on Bible Numerics:  http://emmausrevelations.blogspot.com/2015/11/bible-numerics.html)

Jewish rabbis have been well aware of this meaning of numbers phenomenon for centuries. They call it "gematria."  12 is the number of government, administration or, in the case of the young girl, it signifies an entire generation. This number is mentioned many times throughout the Bible. For instance: Jacob had 12 sons; there are 12 tribes; 12 apostles. The Book of Revelation has multiples of 12 like the number 12,000, the 144,000 Jewish evangelists of the Tribulation and so on.

This woman's healing is unlike any other healing that is documented in scripture.  Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE ELSE, that was healed by Jesus either heard Him preach, asked Him directly for their healing OR He was doing something for them.  For one He made clay.  Others He touched in some way.  Still others He commanded they get up and walk. The point is, EVERYONE ELSE ASKED for healing first and waited for Jesus to act.
Not her.  She, like a leper, was shunned, separated from human contact because of her bleeding in accordance with the law recorded in Leviticus 15:25-27.  She could never go out in public and she could never hear Jesus preach.  She could ONLY HEAR "ABOUT" JESUS from other people.

You and I are in the same boat she was.  We also cannot physically see Jesus. We cannot touch Him in person or hear His sweet voice with our physical ears.  We can only HEAR "ABOUT" HIM because physically He is in heaven.
This subject of "Hearing and receiving" is a running undercurrent throughout the Bible and one of the keys to understanding this story.  Well, something this woman heard caused her to receive.  (For more on "hearing and receiving," follow this link:  http://emmausrevelations.blogspot.com/2014/06/shema-shema-listen-with-hearing-heart.html)

Whatever it was, the Church needs to hear today.  It definitely could not have been the law because that what disqualified her.  If she had obeyed the ordinance in Leviticus 15 she would never have gone out in public at all, especially if she believed she would defile everyone.  In the law she also would have found no faith to receive her healing.  But somehow she found the courage to venture out in public at the risk of being stoned to death to touch one person:  JESUS!

This poor woman had suffered terribly for all those years, gone to many doctors only to become even sicker.  As a result, she was now also totally broke.  Undoubtedly she was physically very weak and it's entirely possible that she was just as near death as the young girl.

So where did she get the strength, the courage and the determination to go out in public.....in the middle of a crowd, no less?  She heard about grace!  She heard about the things Jesus did and said!  She heard that, though she was sinful and unclean, she, too, could be healed! She heard and heard and heard and heard, again and again and again.  That's what caused her to be able to receive!

(Tallit with tassels on each corner, each with a blue thread woven into it)

She crept up from behind with a shaky hand and what little faith she had and touched the
hem--the tassel--of His Tallit, the prayer shawl worn by every Jewish male.
Why did she do that?  How did she know to do that?  It was a revelation given to her by the Holy Spirit.  First of all, she would have had to believe He was The Messiah and secondly, she would have been familiar with this passage in Malachi 4:
"But to you who fear my name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with HEALING IN HIS WINGS..."
"His wings" were the tassels, or kanaphim, of his tallit!  NO ONE ELSE is ever recorded to have touched His His WINGS.  She is only one.
(For more on the meaning of the blue tassel, follow this link:  http://emmausrevelations.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-blue-tassel_29.html)

What does this mean for us today?  That we, even if we feel sinful, unclean, or unworthy, it's ok!  WE CAN RECEIVE OUR HEALING TOO!  Jesus has qualified us BY HIS SHED BLOOD.  Hear and hear and hear and hear how Jesus loves to heal again and again and again.  Hear and receive your healing!

Amazingly, out of that great press of people physically touching Jesus, she was the ONLY ONE WHO got healed.  The most unique thing about her healing was of the countless multitudes Jesus healed, hers was the only "active" healing.  By that I mean she received without Jesus knowing it first or being asked directly. In other words, without His initiative.  Her faith was imperfect in that she came from behind as though to steal her blessing.  Everyone else He healed waited for Him to say or do something, even Jaírus.

When Jesus perceived that power had gone out from Him, He said something that totally baffled his disciples; "Who touched me?"
What did He mean, "Who touched me?"  He was in the middle of a whole crowd pressing in on Him! Lots of people were "touching" Him.  Nonetheless, He stopped, turned around and sought her out. Unlike in the Old Testament when no one could ever see His face, He lovingly turned to see who it was so He could show her His face. Then He said the most amazing thing to her. "DAUGHTER, your faith has made you well. Go in peace."
Literally, He said, "Go into peace."  He wanted her to know that He freely, openly, gladly healed her!  No one else is in the entire Bible is documented as being called "DAUGHTER" except this woman.  It was a warm, affectionate, family term.
Jesus wants you and I to feel the same way:  Warm and affectionate toward Him because we are family.  We are not orphans.

As for Jaírus' daughter, the young girl was near death.  Her father was a ruler of the synagogue, a very prominent man about town.  He came and begged Jesus to heal her.
Jesus allowed ONLY Peter, James, John and the girl's parents inside their home.  He put out professional mourners who scorned and mocked Jaírus for bringing Jesus to his home because by this time the girl was already dead.  Why?  Because Jesus would have none of their nonsense.  No detractors, no nay sayers.
He entered the room where the child lay, took her by the hand and said to her, “TALÍTHA, CUMÍ!"  IMMEDIATELY THE GIRL AROSE AND WALKED, FOR SHE WAS TWELVE YEARS OF AGE.

Everyone was amazed of course, especially the nay sayers.  They're a typology of the scoffing kind even today who don't believe in healing;  "But He commanded them (the parents) strictly that no one should know it, and said that SHE SHOULD BE GIVEN SOMETHING TO EAT."  Notice He said to give her something to "Eat," not "drink."

The Meaning Behind The Words.
Ok; let's connect the dots.  Why did Jesus bring only His inner circle?  Throughout the Gospels, He did that a lot.  Here's why:  Peter's name means "stone;" James means "replace or usurp;" John means "GRACE." It's a message:
THE LAW HAS BEEN REPLACED BY GRACE!

Why did the Holy Spirit leave in the text the original Aramaic?  Because it paints a clear picture of what He actually did.
"Talitha," is the feminine of tallit which, as you read earlier, is the Jewish prayer shawl. "Talitha cumí" literally means "little girl under the tallit, arise!"  It's a picture of Jesus removing His Tallit, placing it over the girl--literally covering her with His righteousness from head to toe--commanding her to arise:  "Talitha cumi!"
The tallit, being made of pure, white linen, is a picture of divine righteousness and purity.

Why is this so critical for us to understand today?  Miracles are signs and not just visible expressions of God's power, according to John 20:30 which says, "And many other SIGNS {miracles} truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples...."

The Holy Spirit has carefully selected 33 specific "signs" which are included in the Bible because He did so many miracles there's no way all could be recorded.  Each miracle is there to teach us something about our wonderful Jesus.  Like numbers in the text, these are also not arbitrary or haphazard just to make the book thicker.

(The Church brings the Light of Christ to the world.)

Women in the Bible depict either the Church or natural Israel.  In this case, the woman is a typology of the Church in the last days.  She was sick for these 12 years with a life-threatening bleeding condition.  As long as a woman is bleeding, she cannot, CANNOT have children and she cannot touch other people.

The Bleeding Church?
The Church is like this woman.  She has had a long season of a life-threatening bleeding condition.  Why She "bleeding?" Because of "sin in the camp?" Because we don't pray and seek God's face enough?  We don't have enough faith or patience? Because we're not doing everything we can to please Jesus or we because we don't trust or worship God often enough or well enough?
No.
This verse in Isaiah 64 says "ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is as filthy rags." He is comparing the self-righteousness in the Church to sanitary napkins filled with blood. YUK!
This woman is the embodiment of that verse.  As the verse says, the Church is trusting in HER OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, which are nothing more than filthy rags/soiled sanitary napkins.

Self-righteousness means her focus is on her self and her performance, always self-evaluating because of the belief that she is still under law, which is based on your performance.
She MUST let go of this self effort, this "performance-mentality," touch the tassel of Jesus' talit, "His righteousness," and be healed of her bleeding. She needs to understand she is ALREADY CLEANSED AND RIGHTEOUS before God, being completely cleansed of all unrighteousness.

The days are here when the Church at large is finally recognize this and be healed!

Many pastors today are preaching a mixed "gospel," if you can call it that, telling their people they must obey the law of Moses in order to be pleasing and acceptable to God.  As long as she is afflicted with this "condition," she is unable to reproduce "children" and affect the young generation. She can evangelize all she wants but there will be little, and many times, zero results.  Their congregation will eventually find real food to eat in another "pasture" before they starve to death on the milk of the law being preached.  It's the reason many churches have dried up and closed.

Didn't you ever wonder why people in droves are leaving the Church?  They are seeking God and looking for love in all the wrong places.  Everyone desperately wants to be loved and to belong.  Why else would groups like ISIS have such an attraction?
Folks, there has been a spiritual vacuum that has to be filled with something. If not Jesus, it will be filled with whatever is out there. Sadly, what they don't realize is the JESUS IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TRULY SATISFY THEIR SPIRITUAL HUNGER.

All Is NOT LOST!
But wait!  There's hope in Jesus!  Her "bleeding" can, will and in fact IS drying up!  The end of her scourge of self-righteousness at large is close.  She'll at last be healed of her unfruitfulness when she comes to grips with her eternal right standing before God.  She is not going to be righteous some day, SHE ALREADY IS BECAUSE OF JESUS!

When the whole Church begins to realize this truth, there will be physical healings in her ranks.  She will finally be able to touch the hearts of the young generation everyone thought was lost forever.  She will place Jesus "talit" over them, in other words, cover them with His righteousness and they will arise for THEY ARE NOT DEAD; ONLY SLEEPING!

Last but not least, these two stories have prophetic import for our times.
Jairus was a Jewish leader, a very prominent man.   His name in Hebrew means "enlightened one.  "He is a depiction of the "enlightened, born-again Jewish leaders" of the end times who will invite the Church to come in and minister to their youth; to teach them about Jesus!  YAY!!!
His daughter represents not only young unsaved Gentiles but Jewish youth as well!

Eat, Not Drink.
Remember when Jesus told the parents to give her something to eat not drink?  In Hebrews 5:13-14 it says 13"or everyone who partakes only of milk--(the law)--is UNSKILLED IN THE WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, for he is a babe. 14 But SOLID FOOD--(the REAL gospel)--belongs to those who are of full age, {weaned from milk, mature like the young girl} that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Law-centric or legalistic people are "unskilled in righteousness." They think it's about "right doing." They do not understand that righteousness is a gift you receive by faith apart from works.  The Apostle Paul says they are still "babies," no matter how old or learned, be they theologian, pastor, professor or whatever. Education and chronology does not apply here.

Gospel people are fully mature.  They don't want or need the milk of the law.  They are weaned from milk.  They need the SOLID FOOD of the BREAD OF LIFE; JESUS. That's why Jesus told them to give her "something to eat," NOT drink.  She doesn't need milk, i.e. the law, which is for babies.  Again, chronology does not apply here.

The Meaning Of The Mourners.
As for the mourners, they're a picture of the law-centric preachers (the legalistic bunch) of our day who are howling and whining that "The church is not where she's supposed to be! The church is crying, the church is sighing!  Search our hearts, O God; see if there be any wicked way in us; create in us a clean heart, O God......blah, blah blah..........quoting, inappropriately mind you, all the Old Testament scriptures, as if "sin in the camp" is the problem.  It is not.

They don't realize...yet...that Jesus has already cleansed and made them whole. They are still looking to their performance, or the lack of it, instead of relying on Jesus' finished work.

Shepherds Who Will Feed.
Jesus will have none of this nonsense any more.  He is even now raising up Shepherds who will feed the flock real food, not beat them over the head with laws, laws and more laws.  These "mourners" be on the outside of the Church looking in, their candlestick, meaning their ministry or Church, will shut down, taken away and given to another.

It's been a very long "12" years. Creation has been groaning and travailing for the sons of God to manifest at last!
Well, buckle your seat belts people of Grace: THE REAL GOSPEL!  Unprecedented breakthroughs, healings and revival ARE COMING.  The young generation are not dead; they are only sleeping!

Let's preach the real gospel to them and to the Church at large, laying the mantle of the righteousness of Christ over them.  Let's reach the world with The Truth!

Arise, Church.  Talitha cumí!

Marriage =[כח] Koach: Power

Genesis 2:23-24
23 "And Adam said:
'This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.'  Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

God's ideas always work best, don't they?  He is SO AWESOME, always looking out for our good and to give us every blessing!   But He isn't content to simply tell us;  HE SHOWS US!
Remember what Paul said in Romans 8:5?  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us?  He DEMONSTRATES His love toward us in so many different ways throughout the Bible.  The ultimate expression was Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, of course.

Hebrew words, names, numbers and even the letters themselves all demonstrate how much He loves us.  In the words for "Bridegroom and Bride," are some amazing hidden truths that will really bless you!

Hebrew reads from right to left and is a form of picture writing, like Chinese. The word pictures tell us a story that you would get neither the definition nor from whatever language into which it is translated. It also gives you a windows on God's perspective.  Lets take a look!

Bridegroom: Chatan
[חתן]

[ח] Het or chet, pronounced like a guttural "k" is a picture of a fence. Something can be either fenced in or fenced out
[ת] Tav is a picture of the cross
[ן] Nun is fish, a picture of the believer or the church.

Remember the secret sign for "Christian" in the early church? Yes, a fish!  Now you know why they chose that symbol.  So "chatan/groom" literally means "fenced in to a life of the sacrifice of the cross."

This is the perfect embodiment of what Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,"

WOW! After they are married, a man no longer lives for himself; he cuts ties to his parents and is bound to his wife. He does everything for her good and that of his family (Ideally).  Just as Jesus gave His all by his sacrifice on the cross, so each husband lays down his all for his wife and family. That's the way God designed it and that's the way it works best for maximized enjoyment by both man and woman in every area of their relationship.

The word for Bride is "kalah," and this is It's Hebrew spelling:
Kalah
[כלה]
[כ] Kaf is a picture of a hand curved as when placed on someone's shoulder in blessing. It is literally a picture of the laying on of hands.
[ל] Lamed is a picture of the ox goad which means "learning."
[ה]Hei means grace.
The woman brings the "grace", the feminine touch, to the marriage.
The letters tell you she is "always blessing, always learning, always gracious."

Power To Get Wealth.
How does marriage relate to wealth?  I'm sure you noticed the bold Hebrew letters in "bridegroom and bride" above?  Now, Let's look at this verse in Deuteronomy 8:18.
18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you POWER to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

The Hebrew word for "power" in this verse is "koach."  It is spelled like this:
[כח]
[כ] kaf- hand of blessing
[ח] "Chet/het-fence

In the word for groom you'll find the letter "het [ח] and the letter "kaf [כ]in bride. Put the "kaf" together with "het" and it's the same word for "power [כח]" in Deut. 8:18!
True,  God can give anyone "koach/power" to get wealth, of course. This, however, is a clear indication that the union of a husband and wife gives an extra "umph, that "koach-power," sanctified by God in marriage, to get wealth. Man and wife make a powerful team, stronger together in marriage than they are apart, put together by God Himself!

So now you see how marriage = power:  Koach!

The Bride

Isaiah 61:10
"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, 10 My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."

The most wonderful day in a young woman's life is her wedding day!  She never looks more radiant and beautiful than she does on that special day that she's been dreaming of for her whole life.
Now that day is here!

A vision of loveliness in her own rite, she is dressed in her wedding gown, decked with beautiful, sparkling jewels.  The bridegroom is completely captivated by her!  His heart belongs to her as completely as hers belongs to Him.
You can see it in their eyes as she walks down the aisle.  The love each has for the other is almost tangible!  Even though there's a whole crowd of witnesses, in their eyes, there's no one else in the whole universe except the two of them.

The Bride; Not "The Wife."
Jesus calls us, His Church, the "Bride of Christ."  Ever wonder why we are called His bride and not His wife?   Well, as many of you who are married may know, after a few years, love can mellow.  Your appearance can change "somewhat," not to put too fine a point on it, and there may have been a disagreement.....or two; maybe three or four....or five.....since that magical day.  The point is, love is never as fresh, as beautiful and as unspoiled as on your wedding day.

Jesus' love for His Bride is forever just like the very first day:  Eternally fresh, eternally beautiful, as unspoiled and vibrant as on the day we were wed to Him.  He is our Bridegroom and He is altogether lovely!  He is as captivated, head-over-heels in love with us as we are with Him.

And that, Church, is why we're not called "the wife of Christ."  We are called "the Bride!"

Wealth: Asár [עשר]

Deuteronomy 8:18
“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

(Moses speaking to the Children of Israel.)

What is it about the subject of money that causes such "spirited discussion," to put it nicely, among Christians?  Some trip all over themselves trying to prove they're not "materialistic." Perhaps they are are afraid of being labeled?

How do you tell if a person is materialistic?  Is it someone who has many possessions?  Very wealthy?  Mega-rich?  No.  None of the above.  Wealth and riches in and of themselves do not constitute "materialism."  The question isn't, "Are you rich?"  The question is, "Do you possess your possessions OR DO THEY POSSESS YOU?"

What does the Bible tell us?  Fortunately, God has plenty to say on the subject.  Jesus Himself dealt with it quite frequently while He walked this earth.  According to the opening verse, God is clearly in favor of wealth, though He doesn't just give it to anyone.  If He wasn't, why would He give us POWER to get it?

The Tithe Predates The Law.
Wealth and tithing are actually closely related.  It should also come as no surprise that the Hebrew words for "wealth and tithing" both reveal some surprising things.  You'd never get them from any definition, not to mention it gives you a window on God's perspective.  It's quite enlightening but we will explore that in a little while.

The principle of tithing predates the law by several hundred years.  You may be surprised to learn that there are two kinds of tithing in the Bible.  First, there's the kind that Abram offered to Melchizedek, King of Salem and, secondly, the one demanded by Mosaic law.  The former carries with it blessing and promise; the latter offers nothing save a curse if omitted.
Let's examine the passages of scripture that pertain to each.

(Abram gives Melchizedek a tithe of all he had.)

Abram Meets Melchizedek.
Remember the meeting between Abram and Melchizedek?  This King of Salem, also called "priest of the Most High God," blessed Abram after he returned from rescuing his nephew, Lot.  Melchizedek offered him bread and wine, after which Abram did something amazing.  Though he lived 430 BEFORE the Ten Commandments were given, he offered Melchizedek a tenth of everything he owned.
Now, obviously, he was never under law, yet he knew to give a tenth of all his possessions. #1: How did he know to give a tithe, and #2:  Why did he do it?  Let's follow the story.

Genesis 14:18-20
18"And Melchizedek, King of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.  19 And he {Melchizedek} blessed him {Abram}, and said, 'Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, (Elyon) possessor of heaven and earth:  20 And blessed be the Most High God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.
And he gave him tithes of all."

Melchi means "King," and "tsedek "means "righteous," in Hebrew.  He was also King of Salem.  Salem comes from the root word, "Shalom," which means, "peace."  So,  He's the King of Righteousness and the King of Peace!  Sound familiar?  It should.  He was our pre-incarnate Jesus!
Back then, however, He could only be called "priest" of the Most High God, not "High Priest."  One cannot be called "high" priest unless there are other lesser priests over which to be higher.  Aaron was called "high priest," because there were lesser priests under him.  At the time of Melchizedek, there weren't any priests.

Great High Priest.
After Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension having fulfilled all the Law and redeemed us by His blood, He sat down at the right hand of His Father.  THEREFORE, GOD HIGHLY EXALTED HIM and gave Him the Name that is above every name.  He is rightfully now called "GREAT High Priest."
Unlike those of the Levitical system, He lives after the power of an endless life, a priest FOREVER according to the order of Melchizedek, who had no father, no mother, no beginning and NO END, per Hebrews 7.
We, Church,  are just like Jesus.  We also have become priests and kings according to the order of Melchizedek, too.  He is now Great High Priest because all of us are the "lesser priests" over which He is "Great High Priest"

Out of Melchizedek's mouth comes ONLY blessing and NO curse.  In response to the blessings spoken over him Abram gave Melchizedek "tithes of all."

This King Priest offered Abram bread and wine.  That's communion!  Holy communion brings to remembrance Jesus' death, of course and the verse below tells us why he responded with the tithe.
Hebrews 7:8 says:  "Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he {Jesus} receives them, of whom IT IS WITNESSED THAT HE (JESUS) LIVES."

Just as communion shows forth Jesus' death, tithing is evidence of His resurrection.  It is proof THAT HE LIVES!!!

Tithing According To The Law.
In stark contrast to tithing under the Abrahamic covenant of Grace is the Levitical law of tithing:
Leviticus 27:30
"And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord."
You see?  That's all there is. It is "holy to the Lord."  Only demand; NO PROMISE.

Secrets In The Hebrew Language.
Now let's look at what the Hebrew language itself reveals.

In the opening verse it said “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you POWER to get wealth, (Why?) that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

The subject of wealth sparks so much discussion in the Church primarily because it is misunderstood and the scripture misinterpreted, albeit unintentionally.   To hear some preach it you'd think it a curse to be rich!  Nothing could be further from the truth.

It doesn't matter whether or not the wealthy person realizes it, God is the One Who gives the increase.  The "Sad Rich," for lack of a better term, are simply those who don't have their priorities in order.  By sad I mean they've perhaps lost their family, their health or both on the way to the not-so-glorious "top.
But our wonderful Abba doesn't want that for us and shows us how to be "happy rich," if you will.

Health And Wealth.
Whenever these two subjects, health and wealth, come up, invariably you hear some well-meaning person say, "Oh, you're preaching that health and wealth gospel," believing they're protecting holiness or something.
This may come as a surprise to you but HEALTH AND WEALTH IS NOT THE GOSPEL.
GRACE IS.  Health and wealth go hand and hand with the REAL GOSPEL whether you like it or not.
Wealth doesn't only mean financial, though it is certainly included.
When Jesus spoke to his disciples in the upper room, He bequeathed to them, "Peace."  "Peace I leave you."  The Hebrew word for "Peace, " is "Shalom."  The definition of the word as well as the Hebrew  letters are a study in and of themselves.  (For more on that topic, follow this link:

Abram was rich in both cattle and livestock.  Yes, materially rich.  But the blessings of Abrahm encompass so much more.
When Jesus was here on earth, He went about doing good, "Healing all who were sick or oppressed of the devil."  THAT'S HEALTH.  He also provided for the needs of people, like the feeding of the 5,000, for one. THAT'S WEALTH.

Jesus was always healing, always providing. Physical health and wealth, meaning prosperity, which includes but is not limited to finances, go hand in hand wherever Jesus is present, folks.  In His presence how can there possibly be any lack?  "The LORD is my Shpeherd.  I shall not LACK." He wants us to prosper in every area:  Social, emotional, spiritual, physical and, yes, financial.  We are blessed, not only for our own benefit,  but to BE A BLESSING.

We don't need to focus on the blessings.  We focus on Jesus!  When you are conscious of GOD's love for you and understand you are completely righteous in Him, blessings naturally follow.  He gives you His SHALOM which includes financial blessings as well.
Don't apologize for that; it's simply part of the package.

Secrets In The Hebrew Letters.
Now let's look at Hebrew letters themselves.  This is the word for wealth:
 [עשר]  Asár

Hebrew reads right to left and is a form of picture writing, like Chinese.
[ע] Ayin is a picture of the "eye," like the ones in your head.
[ש] Shin, when it stands alone, is a picture of "Shaddai." It means "power or Almighty God."
[ר] Resh means "head, source or leader."  Your head is, hopefully, where "thinking or meditating" takes place.  The"Rosh" in "Rosh Hashana," for instance, means "head of the year."
Put all the word pictures together and they tell us this about wealth:

"See God as your head/leader/source."

We PLANT the seed; GOD GIVES the increase.  Those who have been greatly blessed by material wealth are often the object of ridicule, sadly, by fellow Christians. This should not be.  As you can you see, in the word "asar," God is showing us how to be wealthy but end up "happy rich," with our priorities straight and families intact.

Now, let's look at the Hebrew word for "tithe."
[מעשר] Ma-asér

The letter [מ] "mem" has been added to the word "asar."  Mem [מ] is a picture of water flowing, which means either "spirit" or, most often, "the Holy Spirit."  These pictures explain how to properly offer the tithe:

"The Holy Spirit (helps us) see God as our head or leader."

The root of the word of "asar" is "Asher," one of Jacob's sons, whose name means "happy and healthy."  So, it's clear that God is not against riches and He gives us power to get them. He is, however, opposed to GREED AND SELFISHNESS.  Keeping our priorities straight is the key.  See God as your head and be mindful of the following verses:

First Fruits.
Romans 11:16 "For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches..." meaning that tithing "cleans up" or "sanctifies" the other 9/10ths of the money in our hands which was tainted by the curse that is on this earth.

Malachi 3 says that we are cursed with a curse.  Notice it doesn't say "God puts a curse on people," does It?  No.  You see, we don't know where our money has been or for what evil purpose or purposes it may have been used before it came into our hands.  It is tainted with the curse that is on this fallen earth.
You and I, Church, are NOT under the curse.  God has made provision for us to separate us and our money from it through the tithe.

As you read before, "Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he {Jesus} lives."
Tithing is SO not about condemning people or laying a guilt trip on them about how they handle their money.  If you truly don't have a revelation to "see God as your head," you probably shouldn't tithe.  Give whatever is in your heart.  Remember, law demands; grace supplies.

You won't "fear" to tithe when you are more aware of supply than of demand.  Tithing out of guilt or because of a command, as under the law, is not honoring to God.  But when it is out of love for the One Who, though He had everything, gave up ALL and became nothing so that He could give us everything, blessing flows.

Every one of us could do with a bigger and better picture of what Jesus endured for us:  How He redeemed us from ALL our sins of our ENTIRE LIFE;  how he made us righteous and perfect before our Father, God, and in Whose presence we can now stand with conscience devoid of sin and guilt.  It is then that we cannot help but give to God.  We love.....and give.....because HE FIRST LOVED US.

You don't need to be threatened or afraid of anything, including wealth.  But you do want to have your priorities straight.
"See God as your Head."  He's the One Who gives us the power to get  Wealth.
