No More Double Talk, Please!

John 1:29
"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!'"

If you've ever been in any church, anywhere at all, you've heard this verse.  The truth of Who Jesus is was revealed to and spoken by John the Baptist by the Holy Spirit when he saw Jesus passing by.

Many churches recite this verse in th process of preparing to partake of communion.  Next, however, you are very likely told that you need to make sure you confess all of your sins to God before you partake so you don't partake "unworthly," right?  You know what they're implying, of course?  That if you don't confess your sins, you might get sick or even die if you partake unworthily.

That is absolutely NOT TRUE.  By confessing your sins as a believer before taking communion, YOU ARE REMINDING GOD OF WHAT HE HAS ALREADY TAKEN AWAY.  It is a slap in His face!

All Means All.
Tell me:  Did Jesus take away ALL your sins or not?  Did The PERFECT, SINLESS, SELFLESS Lamb of God do a good job? Then in your life, ALL sin is taken away. THERE ARE NONE LEFT.  PERIOD.  ALL MEANS, "ALL," from the time you were born until the time you see Jesus face to face!

In God's sight, you are FOREVER BLAMELESS because you are in Christ.  He cannot reprove you because you stand in the perfection of His Son.

In Remembrance Of Me.
Is communion to remember our sins?  Or to remember Jesus?  I hope those are rhetorical questions.
Remember what Paul wrote to the Corinthians?  "...the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.”  I Corinthians 11:23-24.

Why would we to bring to God a remembrance of our sins if Jesus took them all away?  We DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF JESUS Who cleansed our entire lives--past, present, FUTURE.
We don't confess our sins to God in order to be forgiven.  We confess then to Him because we already are so He can help us overcome those things that so easily beset us.

NO MIDDLE GROUND.
Church, you never, ever have to go to God to ask Him to forgive your sins to be made right with Him again.  As far as God is concerned, between you and Him, it's a done deal.
Does that mean we never commit sins ever again?  Of course not!  But when you fall, you fall INSIDE THE ARK; IN CHRIST.  NEVER EVER do you fall outside or do the floodwaters of Judgment swirling all around you come inside.

Your sins are either ALL GONE for your entire life, beginning to end...........OR..........you are still unforgiven of ALL and still UNsaved.  Those are the only two states of being.  There is no middle ground.

THIS IS THE REAL GOSPEL.
There is a fear in the Church that knowing you are forgiven for your entire life will make people more "licentious."  The fact of the matter is, the exact opposite is true. It is the LACK of knowing how forgiven we are which causes licentiousness.  Jesus Himself said, "He that is forgiven much, loves much."

If you're still skeptical about this subject, check out what Jesus Himself has to say by following this link:

Check out the Greek of 1 John 1:9 if you don't believe me.  You'll find the word "cleanse" is in the PERFECT TENSE. That means your asking forgiveness from God and your being cleansed is a ONE-TIME, NEVER-TO-BE-REPEATED ACT.

THIS IS A SALVATION VERSE, not an action that believers need to do continuously.

So please Church:  Let's have no more double talk.....Please!
