Why Does This Story Sound So Familiar?

REAL Story In The Stars:  Part 7 of 9

Genesis 1:14
14 "Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be FOR SIGNS and seasons, and for days and years;' "

Elohim-Creator God, created and named all the stars, placed them in the heavens and orchestrates their movements.  They were placed there, the Bible says, not only to divide night from day and to mark the seasons but, as it says in the verse above, "FOR SIGNS."

Just in case there's any doubt about Who's really in charge, consider this little narrative borrowed from Greek mythology.

The constellation Hercules was so named by the Greeks.  They called him "the strong man."  Here's how they described him:
1.  He crushed the head of the "great dragon" under one foot.
2.  He has a death grip on Hydra, the "three-headed snake being embroiled in a galactic struggle with it.
3.  He is kneeling on one knee, the dragon's head in pieces under one foot, a club in one hand and Hydra, the three-headed snake, in the other.
4.  They claimed that this snake "bit Hercules" and he "died," spending "3 days" in the belly of a great monster before coming "back to life."

Hmmm.....somehow their story sounds VERY familiar.  I think they borrowed the story line from another somewhere else.

We all know a story just like it, only better!  It's the one about THE STRONG MAN, JESUS! 

He's the One Who crushed the head of our enemy, satan, under His heel!

He's The One Who died; spent 3 days in the "heart of the earth," and was resurrected!

He's The One Who totally triumphed over, well, EVERYTHING!
....and now HE HOLDS ALL THE KEYS!  HALLELUIA!!!

God BLASTED all over the night sky the TRUE story of The Perfect Lamb of God, Jesus--THE STRONG MAN-Who completely, utterly and definitively triumphed over satan and all his minions!

You see the devil, heard the following pronouncement in the garden and endlessly (ad nasuem) tried to avert his fate.  HE FAILED MISERABLY!
Genesis 3:15
15 "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruises His heel.”

More likely, the pagans didn't actually borrow the story. Rather, it was inserted into their culture and literature by ol' slimy, the #1 perverter of every good thing; satan.
He ceaselessly attempts to distort everything God does to prevent the spread of the gospel.

When David penned these words of Psalm 19:
"The heavens declare the glory of God......" He wasn't kidding; THEY REALLY DO!
The stars were put there to tell man the gospel story long ago because there was no written word of God.

Today we have God's written word to tell us the wonderful stories of Jesus.  We no longer need to tell the Gospel by the stars, though they still remain as a testimony to all mankind so that "they are without excuse."
Everyone knows there is a God.

If someone lives in so remote an area where the gospel has not been preached and seeks to know Godd personally, He will do whatever it takes to send a humaan messenger to preach the gospel to them.
Abba is a good God!  He will part the waters and make a way where there seems to be none!

That's why this story sounds so familiar.
